The cost of food is going up and not everyone can afford to buy organic all the time. If you are worried about pesticides on your food but your wallet can’t afford the price of organic, read on for a list of fruits and vegetables that are your best bet when buying non-organic.
Onions – Onions promote a healthy heart and may prevent cancer and even Alzheimer’s.
Avocado – Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fat. They may help lower cholesterol and promote heart health.
Frozen Sweet Corn – The yellow variety of corn contains zeaxanthin, a phytochemical found to promote eye health and reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Pineapple – Pineapple acts as an anti-inflammatory, reducing pain and swelling in joints associated with osteoarthritis. The vitamin C and bromelain found in pineapple may also help in healing injuries.
Mango – Mangos contain beta-carotene which may help promote immune health and ward off cancer.

Broccoli – Broccoli is full of vitamins and minerals which are found to protect against a huge list of cancers, including those of the colon, breast, prostate, pancreas, and stomach.
Eggplant – Eggplant can help the brain function properly as well as help lower cholesterol and has some anti-cancer potential.

Awesome article Jessica! You are 100% correct about the increase in food costs. Every time I return from the grocery store, my wife askes me how much I spent and then asks me where all the food is! She’ll even ask me, if I left a bag or two in the car!
